Animal Quarantine Preparation
We will assist you with preparations for overseas travel, including necessary documents for animal quarantine, prescription for parasite control medication, vaccinations for rabies and other diseases, antibody tests, and microchip implantation.
Dental care
Dental health is one of our top priority for your furry companions. We specializes in dental care for pets, offering a range of services including dental x-rays, teeth cleanings under microscope, extractions, and oral surgeries. Introduction I’m from Hyōgo Prefecture. After graduating from the Veterinary Medicine Department (Japanese) of Tottori University, I began working at the Central Animal Hospital (Japanese). With their support I went to the Colorado University College of Veterinary Medicine in the USA for further training. I speak English fluently—just ask for me at reception.

Exit from the north side of JR Settsu-Motoyama station.
Go straight out of the exit towards the main road (called ‘Yamate Kansen’). Turn right at the main road. Walk along the main road for about 5-6 minutes. You’ll pass a Starbucks café, a Lawson’s convenience store and some apartment buildings on the way to the clinic. After a large parking area, you’ll see Lion Animal Hospital on your right. Please give us a call if you have trouble finding us!

Head south until you reach the main road (called ‘Yamate Kansen’). You’ll see a Starbucks café across the road. Cross the main road so you are on the same side as Starbucks. Turn left and walk along the main road in front of Starbucks. You’ll pass a Lawson’s convenience store and some apartment buildings on the way to the clinic. Pet Travel Checklist (Departure from Japan)
Pet owners are responsible for submitting the export application to the Animal Quarantine Service (AQS) and completing all entry procedures for the destination country.
1. Tasks for the Pet Owner (Applications & Booking)
These procedures must be done directly by the owner or pet travel agents.
The animal hospital cannot apply on your behalf.
Check the Entry Requirements of the Destination Country
Verify the latest rules on the official website of the destination's authority.
If a specific "Health Certificate" form is required, fill in the necessary section and bring it to our clinic.
Please ensure all information exactly matches your pet’s records.
Examples: Singapore, UK, EU
Submit the "Application for Export Inspection" to Japan AQS
Apply online (via NACCS) or by FAX to the Animal Quarantine Service at your departure airport at least 7 days before departure (some countries require much earlier notice).
Airlines Booking & Pet Crate Preparation
Note: We can prescribe oral sedatives for the flight if necessary.
2. Documents & Services Provided by Our Clinic
We will perform the necessary medical treatments and issue the required documents (Originals).
Please provide the exact same animal information as registered or imported if available.
Microchip Implantation・Certificate
Must comply with ISO 11784/11785 (15-digit number).
Health Certificate (Clinical Examination Certificate in English)
Issued right before departure (usually within 10 days, depending on the country).
Physical examination is necessary (We must see the animal at the clinic).
May be required for inspection at Japan AQS.
Includes: Animal name, birth date, microchip no., sex, species, breed, body weight, color.
Rabies Vaccination・Certificate (in English)
Product: Rabies vaccine-TC, Inactivated, 1 year-type
Rabies Serological Test (Original) (in English)
We do blood sampling, application, and sample shipping to the official lab (RIAS).
The original report will be mailed directly to the owner.
⚠ It takes approximately 3 weeks to get the result from the date of blood sampling.
Combination Vaccination・Certificate (in English)
Parasite Treatment・Certificate (in English)
External parasite (Fleas, ticks) medicine ingredient: Fipronil or Sarolaner
Internal parasite (nematodes, cestodes) medicine ingredient: Praziquantel, Pyrantel-pamoate
Special Blood Sampling for Australian Quarantine
We do blood sampling and sample shipping to the official lab (MAFF Chubu center).
⚠ Application must be completed by a travel agent BEFORE blood sampling.
⚠ Reminder for Departure Day
On the day of your flight, you must bring all ORIGINAL documents issued by our clinic to the Animal Quarantine Service at the airport.
Photocopies will not be accepted for departure.
